Evolving the Mechanics


I have been actively working on this project and wanted to give a quick update.

The project is currently in the "dev build" phase. I have write all new code for the core mechanics. While the project is inspired by the gamejam game i made for LoJam, it is not a direct copy or port of those mechanics.  Instead I have take a unique twist on how the force wall and dimension shift will work in this new title. 

In Arcane Apprentice (working title) the player will be able to interact with crystal shards that will allow them to alter aspects of the game. This may mean which plane they exist on (similar to the gamejam game) but may have other effects as well.  The shards will exist as intractable objects in the game that can be picked up and moved by the player.  This expands the mechanic explored in my LoJam game will also adding some new restrictions and possible depth to the mechanic. 

Im really looking forward to trying this out with play testers.
